Happy New year to you all. We hope you had as much fun as we did over the festive period. <\/p>\n

Room Refurbishments<\/h2>\n

While we were closed for our vacation in Thailand before Christmas, we were having some refurbishments done. <\/p>\n

There’s now a new bathroom in the Courtyard Suite which, with its herringbone tile effect, made our tiler moan for about three days for its complications!<\/p>\n

For the two deluxe rooms, Eight and Ten, we’ve opted for a geometric wallpaper in keeping with the Art Deco theme. Both have been finished with new carpets and newly upholstered headboards too.<\/p>\n

Room 10 now has dimmable ceiling lights with lovely side table lights which look particularly great in the evening. We have also moved Room Eight’s new Smart TV to a more convenient place so it can be watched in bed or from the sofa. Overall, we have to say we’re pleased with the work. It’s very satisfying to be providing genuine five-star accommodation.<\/p>\n

A New Walk<\/h2>\n

Over the festive period we discovered a new walk, which starts about 45 minutes drive from here, heading towards Bigbury in the South Hams. There is a truly magnificent coastal path stretch with some big climbs, before it heads inland to the estuary on the River Erme. And let’s not forget a stop at the pub for lunch. All in all, a rewarding eight mile circular route.<\/p>\n

We have all the guidebooks regarding South West Coastal path walks here at The Somerville and we can happily suggest walks of the length that’s right for you.<\/p>\n

Upcoming Entertainment<\/h2>\n

Princess Theatre<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

(I didn\u2019t know that the Beatles performed here in 1963 to promote their new single \u201cShe Loves You\u201c. They definitely were not a tribute band!)<\/p>\n

Valentines Weekend<\/h2>\n

Don\u2019t forget Valentines Day is on a weekend this year. For a two night stay we’ll put a bottle of chilled prosecco in your room to greet you on your arrival , whether it be a Deluxe room or a Suite.
