Well, the builders arrived on schedule and work is now well underway on the refurbishment of Rooms One and Two to convert them into one fantastic suite.
As you can see from the photos, the two en-suites and the retaining wall have been removed to create a big space (and a fair bit of dust). What’s worse, the initial banging is waking me up from my afternoon snooze! (But I must say the noise has finished and the dust has been cleared up now.)
The builders have a couple of weeks to finish the job then we are hoping to open the suite to guests on the 8th March.
SPECIAL OFFER: the suite is bookable in March for an incredible price of £100 per night rather than £145 (for a minimum two-night stay). This offer is available until the end of March, before normal rates will apply – call us now on 01803 294755 to take advantage.
SPRING IS STARTING
With our first year coming up in March, I have been amazed at the mild winters we have here in the bay, and the buds are already up but not quite flowering. We do have some blossom coming through in our garden and, overall, I am starting to see for myself what they tell me about the micro climates.
It won’t be too long before we are changing the clocks and making the most of the longer nights. If were thinking of coming to Torquay over the Easter period we only have two rooms left. So give me a ring directly as y our rates are always cheaper when booked direct.
If you were thinking of coming over the Easter weekend don’t forget to join us (as I will be there too) for the Gin Festival, which is promoting over a 100 gins and should be a rather fun afternoon/evening. Click on the link below for details.
LOCAL ART
We have teamed up with a local artist to promote the new suite. Laura Wall has won numerous awards for her art as well as her series of children’s books, which have now reached the shores of the US.
Helen and I just love the simplicity and colour in her work and we particularly like the little story that accompanies each painting – whether it be her memories of crabbing as a youngster to loving the life by the seaside.
Laura`s work can be seen online or do visit her very friendly gallery in Teignmouth. And good art aside, we are very much believers in supporting small local businesses similar to ourselves.
ONE YEAR!
Lastly, we would like to thank everyone for their support in the last 12 months. We celebrate our first year in our new business on March 7th. It has had its ups and downs and relocation can often be difficult, missing family and friends. However, we’re delighted to say our very happy clientele have made our first year an absolute pleasure! We have met some great people, and we hope to meet both old acquaintances and new in the coming year.
