Well, after a long wait, we had the news from South-West Tourism that we had received “highly Commended” in the “Best B&B in Devon category. We missed out on the awards ceremony (it’s for the top three) but we are delighted with our fourth place – not least because it was our first attempt at entering the competition. We are determined for more success in 2018!
We must say we wish our neighbours at “The25 Boutique” well – hopefully, they’ll win first place! The top three contenders are:

Here in Torquay we also have Old Vienna Restaurant, which has made the final three of the “Best Restaurants in Devon”. They are 400 yards around the corner from us, so we are keeping our fingers crossed for them. Werner, the Owner/Chef, is quite a character and his Schnapps after dinner certainly helps our guests sleep!
Awards Aside …
We had the recent pleasure of the star Elaine Paige staying with us for two nights while she was performing at The Princess Theatre. It was a delight to have such a wonderful person as a guest, and we thoroughly the performance too. Of course, we had to ask for a team photo …
