Where does time go!? After all the Christmas and New Year festivities and our annual holiday-closure, it’s already half way through January. But we haven’t been idle …
Pure Opulence
Our 2024 reopening also saw our Garden Suite’s bathroom being newly refinished in a really rather opulent style. As you might be able to guess, we love it! We have removed the rolltop bath (and apologies to guests who’ve enjoyed it), for it to be replaced with an enormous walk-in rain shower complete with seat, a black marble sink and floor-to-ceiling marble tiles. We aimed to create a luxury bathroom that’s both spacious and opulent and – say it ourselves – we think we’ve achieved it. The photo below gives a taste, but do follow this link through to the accommodation page for more photos and booking/availability.

Five Stars, Confirmed
Talking of luxury, we have retained our status with Visit England as a 5 starred Guest Accommodation and reached the very pleasing heights of receiving a gold award for our customer service. And this is alongside our Breakfast award which, of course, is all Helen’s doing with all her culinary skills. It is very nice to be recognized by third parties as well as our customers.

A Winter Walk
We had a rather chilly circular walk recently around East Pawle. This is Devon’s most southerly point and second only to Lizard Point in Cornwall as the most southerly part of the England. It’s a rugged walk but it must say it was rather idyllic at that time of year, with very few people around. Yes, it was a chilly day and an easterly wind but as if you’re wrapped up well that’s not a problem. And as an extra bonus, the walk finishes at the pub called the The Pigs Nose which is as quirky as pubs can be. We absolutely loved it!

Winter Breaks
As is normal, we are in ‘low’ season during January and February so we have a rather special offer if you contact us direct – 01803 294755. With all our great local restaurants – including the very near by Piano Bar – open, good walking, the lure of sea … you’d be mad not to visit us!
